I love florals. They can either make a woman's look romantic or ridiculous. These designers know how to use florals to create a new modern fairytale of fashion look.
Erdem combines a Victorian and flamenco style dress with a light creamy yellow with red flower print fabric. This look sets a new tone for sexiness in women's ready to wear.
Holly Fulton took a funk whimsical floral dot print in light and dark purples for a romantic modern retro pant look. I love the dark print and light top. The sleeve link on the blouse is lovely with a bell ruffle.
Paul Smith designed a lovely simple wrap dress in a lovely small cheetah print with teal leaf appliques down the front. The burnt orange leather tie belt adds to a woodland element.
Temperley by Alice Temperley always turns out a romantic storybook line. This lovely folkloric style print dress is truly beautiful in a casual way. The navy blue fabric with the mauve and plums in the design creates a very dreamy but strong aesthetic.
Topshop surprised with a feminine line for SS16. This lace dress with floral applique on hip & thigh is quite groovey. It has a new sexiness that we are starting to see in fairytales of fashion.
These florals present a new type of floral print and use in fashion for the genre of fairytale style. The prints are powerful and not ethereal. I am loving it.
Cheers!
